Choplifter is a 1982 horizontally scrolling shooter video game developed by Dan Gorlin and published by Broderbund for the Apple II. The protagonist flies a helicopter with the object of the game to rescue people held hostage in a hostile country and return them to an American base. Along the way the helicopter must evade or destroy a variety of enemies in the air and on the ground. Hostages may be killed by the bad guys or by the actions of the helicopter pilot, so care must be taken to avoid this.
