Looking for a fun and educational field trip in the Bay Area? The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment (MADE) offers one of the most comprehensive collections of interactive technology in the Bay.
Whether you're planning a school field trip, an after-school outing, or a summer program activity, the MADE provides an unforgettable, hands-on learning experience!
Why just read about the history, culture, and art of video games when you can experience them? The MADE is the Bay Area’s only all-playable video game museum. In fact, we’re one of the only in the world! We have over 10,000 playable games from the 1970s through the early 2000s, almost all running on original hardware. Come to play old favorites or discover something new.
Playing the games is important! That being said, there are times when context is really important, and fun, engaging lectures are the best way to convey this. We pair lectures with all of our field trips to make sure that play is both fun as well as educational!
Sometimes, you need a guide to walk you through history! Our educational assistants are here to walk you through our collection and show you how every piece in our collection fits into the larger context of history.
Your students are the next generation of digital creators! We’ve got wonderful hands-on workshops where students can learn through creating, inspired by all the wonderful items in our collection.
We also have a specific fund dedicated to providing Oakland Unified School District students access to our collection and resources--if any of our pricing seems out of your school's reach, we encourage you to apply for funding here!
