Spectacular Advancement

Thanks to the incredible enthusiasm ya’ll have shown, we’re now busy working on a replacement Web site. Something respectable. In the meantime, I wanted to put contact info out there, for us. You can reach us at alex@themade.org if you have any questions. Please feel free to sign up for the mailing list, linked at the top of this page, too. Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Kickstarter, by the way! We’re already 44% of the way to our goal after only 3 full days! That has to be some kind of record!

Over the next week, we will be working on our booth for Game Developers Conference, where we will be exhibiting our first projects. We’re planning on flooding the floor near our booth with the deafening sound of ToeJam & Earl. Booth 2040. Listen for us at the conference, and come by to play our exhibits! Game developers will want to come and sign near the names of the companies they’ve worked for on our large print out of Eric Wall’s excellent heredity tree. We’ll be framing this and putting it on the wall at the first space.

Other exciting news: we’re actively engaged in looking at spaces now! We’re beside ourselves with glee, as things are coming together even faster than we’d ever imagined possible; all of this is thanks to the help of the community and of our volunteers.

We have appointed folks to almost all of the proposed positions we advertised. Amy Lukima is now our community and development manager (crowd control/nuker). John “Seg” Seggerson is our head of IT (tank). BJ Epstein is our new marketing director (draws aggro), and Zedd Epstein will be our facilities manager (still DPS). Finally, Nealon Ledbetter has come on board as chief curator (crafter). Our administrative position will soon be filled (support caster).

Though these positions are now filled, there is still a need for many, many more volunteers. If you want to volunteer, think about which of these departments would best suit you. You can contact each department head by emailing their first name @themade.org.
