Today was the first day of classes in our new 1Up Classroom! This classroom was sponsored by Dolby Labs, David Scott, and the Will and Anya Wright Foundation. And what a first day it was! The photo below was taken at about 9:50. The photo above was taken at the end of our Saturday 10 AM class, at about 11:45. As you can see, students arrived early, and packed the room full by the end.
Our new classroom can accommodate 14 students, for now. We have new computers coming from Google next month, and we’re ordering special tables to go with them when they arrive, but for now, we just wanted to get classes into the new room. Thus, we moved our existing classroom assets across the hall into this new classroom.
And it’s a good thing we did, too. Today we had 14 students! We couldn’t handle more than 10 before, and even 8 was an uncomfortable squeeze in the old classroom. Today, however, 14 fit well, and all the students succeeded in making a 2D top-down shooter.
Tomorrow, (Sunday) marks our second Interactive Fiction class, at 11 AM. And Tuesday at 6PM is our free Android development class for beginner adults. As always, all classes are free!
