You probably don’t know this, but the MADE has been quietly hosting Interactive Fiction meetups on the first Saturday of every month. Meetings start at 1 PM and run until everyone gets tired, usually around 3 or 4. The group plays games together on the projector in our classroom, and tends to eat pizza and chat about the genre as well. Occasionally, they have visits from famous interactive fiction developers. Other times, they’ll work their way through the products of some interactive fiction game jam that’s taken place. Other times, they’ll play with the Mousechief engine. This weekend, I’d expect they’ll be playing another game together. It’s a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, especially if you just can’t find the time to play Zork-likes during your hectic daily life. Admission for IF club is free, but we do ask for a donation at the door for those who can afford it.
