We’re preparing our newest exhibit, The Sound of Games. It will premier on Friday, September 7, starting at 6 PM, and will coincide with the Oakland Art Murmur. From then on, the MADE will be open Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 6 PM, and the Sound of Games will be on exhibit during those times until further notice.
The Sound of Games is sponsored by Dolby, and features a retinue of excellent examples of both musical game play, and classic game music. In addition, we’ll be showing off some truly unique gaming relics on Atari ST, Apple IIgs, and other old computers. Be sure to come ready to play!
Rather than blather on about which games will be in the exhibit, we’re content, for today, to tease you with the images you see in this blog posting. Infer away.
Of course, we’re still working hard to put this exhibit together. We’re actually experiencing our own Burning Man-like preparation frenzy, cleaning the space, and preparing the games and systems for display. If you’re interested in helping us prepare the exhibit; want to help us prepare the C64? Want to help us prepare our displays and information? Come to this Wednesdays’s meeting, and you can chip in by helping to set up old videogame systems. Did you ever think you could volunteer at a videogame exhibit?
